| Bio: | I am The Blob. I am a graduate of the University of the West Indies where I studied at the St. Augustine Campus. While I studied there, I lived on the great and glorious Canada Hall (RESPEX UNTO ALL HERMITS!) and there became The Blob. I am not called The Blob for nothing. I have the physique of a movie star: Jackie Gleason, William Conrad and Bud Spencer come to mind in that regard. When I arrived at St. Augustine so many years ago, I weighed about 100 kg (220 lb.) I have since ballooned to the point where I recently stood on a 150 kg (331 lb) scale and it went over the top. Then, as now, I was about 183 cm (6' 0") tall. My do not have a physical activity beyond walking. I repaired my bicycle a few weeks ago and started riding again, but as soon as I got the wheels tuned and the bicycle serviced, I had a flat. I thought I repaired the flat, but when I inflated the tyre it went back down in a matter of hours, so to hell with it. I do not play any sports, although if I were to involve myself in a sport it would probably be basketball. I have a mild interest in motor racing, although I have a great interest in automobiles in general. Every day I marvel that I have lived as long as I have. Through most of my twenties, until my thirtieth birthday, I did not think I would live to be thirty. I was certain that someone would have shot me dead by then. Jamaica has one of the highest murder rates in the world. My main hobby is collecting, absorbing and regurgitating general BS that I receive from various sources. I read widely, although not as widely as I used to. I was a fan of Code Lyoko and still am a fan of the first season. I have largely lost interest in it, however. I made a few friends in the CL fandom and I believe I still have a few of them. I am also a fan of Azumanga Daioh, Top Gear, and, as always, Connections by James Burke. I discovered fanart and fanfiction through the CL fandom and great artists and writers there. I have tried my hand at both and, while I no longer write fanfiction, drawing fanart led me into drawing as a hobby. I joined deviantART and met some great artists and good friends there. When it comes to music I am a nostalgic curmudgeon who exhorts the greatness of '60s-'70s rock, R&B, and soul and '70s-'80s reggae. I do not consider dancehall to be reggae and I would be hard-pressed to call it music, especially since it generally doesn't have melody or harmony. My attitude toward disco is that it is too bloody wide a genre for one to have an opinion on the whole thing. What, for instance, unifies ABBA, The Bee Gees, KC and the Sunshine Band, Gloria Gaynor, Rod Stewart, The Village People, and The Silver Convention as a genre?
